Hello and welcome to my blog!

My name is Jutta (pronounced Utah) Hofmann Powell. I am a German-born American citizen, mother of four adult children, child care practitioner and a parenting and child development expert with 30 years of experience in the field. I have worked as a licensed Family Child Care provider, nanny, public school kindergarten teacher’s assistant, preschool teacher, and doula. Since 2006 I work as the director of a preschool with an afterschool program, licensed to serve up to 127 children and their families.I am a Florida Child Care and Education Program Director, Child Development Associate (C.D.A.), graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a degree in Social Work, graduate of the Boston University Family Childcare Training Program, and have been congressionally recognized for service to my community. I am also a member of National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). I live with my family and our three pets in South Florida.
